Torrente Nervia

The site hosts patches of a priority habitat, numerous species of migratory birds of community interest, various species from Annex II of the Habitats Directive, endemics, and other species protected by international directives and conventions, even though the “edge” effect of riparian woody vegetation is greatly reduced and the surrounding area is heavily impacted by human activity. The riverbed is dry for 4-5 months a year and, geologically, the site corresponds to a formation of more or less water-smooth pebbles.
