Fondali Varazze – Albisola

The site is the remnant of a vast Posidonia meadow along the coast. In some areas, the meadow has significantly diminished and it is replaced by with formations of Cymodocea sp., except in the area towards the open sea. The meadow in front of Punta dell’Olmo is highly degraded, with extensive areas of dead mats. Along two distinct stretches of coastline, there are some marine caves.
