Fondali Punta Manara

The seabedsextend within the municipality of Sestri Levante, in the province of Genoa. The site constitutes an interesting Posidonia meadow (a priority habitat) that extends over both sandy and rocky substrates. In some areas, it borders with boulders and rocky sites that show aspects of Coralligenous formations of remarkable natural value. Various species of sponges are found in the site, although they are currently dwindling due to excessive harvesting. Occasionally, specimens of bottlenose dolphins can be sighted.
