Fondali Punta Levanto

The Punta Levanto seabedsare located in the municipality of Bonassola, in the province of La Spezia. The site is characterized by the presence of a Posidonia meadow, a priority habitat for the conservation of marine biodiversity, which in some sections mixes with Cymodocea. Additionally, there are interesting ‘lancelet grounds’ and Coralligenous formations in the rocky area. Along the coast of the municipality of Bonassola, near Punta Gone, there is an underwater cave which constitutes an important tourist resource and a habitat of great interest for scientific research. Branchiostoma lanceolatum is a threatened species that serves as an indicator of good environmental quality and present in the site.
