The seabed features submerged puddingoid formations, hosting a wide variety of biocenoses including coralligenous communities with large gorgonians and those of semi-dark caves with red coral. The site is one of the most representative areas in the Northwest Mediterranean Basin. Especially along the western and eastern sides of the promontory, there are some Posidonia oceanica meadows. while along the coast numerous underwater caves can be found. Dolphins, in particular bottlenose dolphins, are often spotted within the site’s boundaries.
