Fondali dello Zingaro

The seabeds of Lo Zingaro extend along the coastline, the SIC ITA010017 and the “Zingaro” Regional Nature Reserve. This area is partially protected by the regulations of the Reserve, which control the access by sea and the flow of visitors. Despite the summer period could be a threat due to the influence of visitors and the wildfires affecting some terrestrial areas, the seabeds show a satisfactory state of preservation. There are cliff habitats of significant naturalistic interest from the supralittoral to the circalittoral zones, which are characterized by coralligenous ecosystems. Moreover, extensive meadows of Posidonia oceanica are present.
