Fondali Capo Mele – Alassio

The site is located in the municipalities of Alassio, Laigueglia, and Andora in the province of Savona. It is characterized by a Posidonia meadow, a priority habitat that, in many sections, does not exceed a width of 200 meters. It is established on mattes and sometimes on rocks, in particular around Capo Mele and it is often replaced by sandy channels which are perpendicular to the coast. Moreover, there are observed areas with Cymodocea and associations of photophilic algae. Within the site, some specimens of loggerhead sea turtle have been found.
