Area Marina di Capo Passero

The SPA is characterized by one of the main migration route for several bird species between Sicily and Malta. It includes the SCIs of the island of Capo Passero and the near seabed. It is also characterized by well-represented marine habitats and bird species of high conservation value. The site hosts one of the only two colonies of Audouin’s gulls in the Ionian Basin.
