The goals and protagonists of LIFE A-MAR NATURA2000

The LIFE20 GIE/IT/001352 A-MAR NATURA2000 project results from the desire to enhance the marine areas of the Natura2000 Network, transforming them into recognizable places of public interest, without sacrificing their conservation.
LIFE A-MAR, which officially started on October 1, 2021, will be developed over 4 years and involves several regions of Mediterranean Europe: Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Corse, Ionia Nisia, Sterea Ellada, Sicily, Sardinia, Apulia, Marche, Liguria, Lazio, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Campania, Calabria, Basilicata, Abruzzo, Veneto, Molise, Malta, Cataluna, Comunidad valenciana, Murcia, Baleares, Andalucia, and the entire coastal area of Albania.The partnership is formed by the Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves (Federparchi – Europarc Italia) lead partner of the project (which includes more than 160 entities that manage marine and terrestrial protected areas) Triton Research, which is specialized in projects and communication on the marine environment, Fundaciòn Biodiversidad of the Ministry of the Environment for Ecological Transition and Demográfica Challenge that promotes nature conservation projects, and Lipu, which manages nature reserves and conservation projects as well as carrying out environmental education-awareness campaigns. Co-funders include Asinara National Park, Tuscan Archipelago National Park, and Cinque Terre National Park.
