Punta Redona – Arenal d’en Castell

This area is in the north of the island of Menorca. It is between La Mola de Fornells and Punta Grossa. The quality and importance of this area is based on the presence of priority habitats. These include Posidonia meadows. This area also includes small bays, coves and islets. It has a wide variety of terrestrial habitats. The Illot d’en Tusqueta stands out for its population of the Lilford’s wall lizard (Podarcis lilfordi). The main threats to Posidonia oceanica beds and benthic assemblages are the anchoring of recreational boats and marine pollution.
