Prat de Cabanes i Torreblanca (LIC)

Located in the province of Castellón. The area is a vast wetland, with a gravel ridge separating it from the sea. Peat is extracted in a controlled manner, resulting in the formation of brackish ponds. The area is a coastal wetland consisting of an old lagoon enclosed by a line of pebbles and gravels. It comprises marshes, swamps, salt marshes, and peat bogs. The fauna is significant, particularly due to the diverse and abundant bird population, as well as the existence of endemic species.
