The small island of San Andrés is situated off the coast of Almería and is part of the municipality of Carboneras. Geologically, it is characterised by its volcanic origin. Regarding marine vegetation, numerous populations are distributed at various depths. As you descend, you will see the Posidonia oceanica meadows, an endemic Mediterranean species, accompanied by other plants such as little Neptune grass (Cymodocea nodosa). The fauna associated with the underwater environment is rich and varied in fish and invertebrate species, which we can highlight, for example, the Noble Pen Shell (Pinna nobilis).
