The marine area that borders the northeastern tip of the island of Ibiza is situated between Punta Grossa to the north and Cala Olivera to the south. The area encompasses the waters surrounding Tagomago Island, which is separated from the coast of Ibiza by a 1.6 km channel. This marine area also surrounds the island of Santa Eulària, which is located 500 metres from Ibiza, as well as the small rocky islets of Redona and Sa Galera in proximity. This marine area is home to important colonies of seabirds. Specifically, the Balearic Shearwater (Puffinus mauretanicus) can be found on the northeastern end of Ibiza, while the European Storm Petrel (Hydrobates pelagicus) and Audouin’s Gull (Ichthyaetus audouinii) can be found on Tagomago island and Santa Eulària, respectively.
