Espacio marino del Cabo de les Hortes

This marine area is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, to the east of the Iberian Peninsula, off the coast of the province of Alicante. This area comprises the waters of an irregular marine strip that extends from north to south, starting from the residential area known as Cala d’Or in the municipality of El Campello and ending at Cala de los Judíos in the northern part of the bay of Alicante. This area of Alicante is part of the driest and most arid region of the Spanish coast. This is also reflected in the oceanographic conditions, with the water having higher temperature and salinity values than the surrounding bodies of water.
