Área marina del Sud de Ciutadella

South of Menorca marine area. Shallow bottoms, small inlets and coves are found in the area. The large extent of Posidonia meadows, which occupy most of the area, together with other well-preserved benthic assemblages, justifies the area’s importance. In addition to the extensive Posidonia seabed, the area includes the Escull Codrell, home to an endemic subspecies of the Balearic Lizard (Podarcis lilfordii).
