Alguers de Borriana-Nules-Moncofa

This marine area is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, to the east of the Iberian Peninsula, off the coast of the province of Castellon. In the municipality of Moncofa, the water located opposite the mouth of the river Belcaire reaches a maximum depth of approximately 20 metres. The climate in the area is characterised by high relative humidity during the summer and frequent sea breezes throughout the year. These breezes increase humidity, which has a dampening effect on temperatures. There are meadows of Cymodocea and Posidonia of varying sizes.
