Parco Nazionale del Circeo

Area where the connection between land and sea merges in transitional water areas. You can observe the most thermophilic and xeric aspects of Mediterranean vegetation; species typical of rocky vegetation; all aspects of aquatic environmental vegetation and a significant swath of plain forest (a remnant of what it was before the Pontine reclamation). Well-preserved dune formations are present, as are important lagoon-coastal-backdune complexes, especially for wintering and migratory bird species and hygrophilic entomofauna.
