The site extends between the eastern part of Riva Trigoso Bay and the Punta Baffe Zone and it is characterized by the presence of marine seabedsof particular importance due to the presence of Posidonia meadows, a priority habitat which develop both on sandy and rocky substrates in the western part of the site. It is of notable interest the presence of the bivalve Pinna nobilis, which is a currently very rare indicator species. Additionally, there are the sponges Spongia agaricina and Spongia officinalis, both species threatened by excessive harvesting. Furthermore, there are various species of turbots and seahorses, which represent important elements of the marine fauna in the site.
