The site is characterized by a Posidonia oceanica meadow, a priority habitat which mainly develops on ‘matte’ and borders a Cymodocea meadow. Habitat conservation is partially good, with the Posidonia meadow to the west of Porto Maurizio being the most flourishing, likely due to the presence of a rocky cliff. However, the upper limit of the meadow significantly regresses in front of the town of S. Lorenzo. Additionally, in the eastern part of the site, at greater depths, there are rocky outcrops and ledges.
