The site is characterized by the presence of a Posidonia meadow, partly located on rocky substrates and partly on ‘matte’, as well as coralligenous formations, which enhance the site’s biodiversity. Additionally, the site hosts various marine species of interest, such as the sea turtle and the bottlenose dolphin. However, the western portion of the Posidonia meadow shows signs of degradation, while the eastern part remains in good condition.
