Eastern Elba is an island of interest for various bird species, which are characterized by exceptional value for species associated with garigues, grazed meadows, and rocky environments. This site hosts a mosaic of diverse habitats, with high biodiversity. There are species of phytogeographical interest and endemism restricted to the biotope in question. The territory is characterized by high hilly terrain which is predominantly covered with Mediterranean scrub and holm oak forests at lower altitudes, garigues, grazed meadows and rocky environments on the ridge, with average slopes of 59%, and some evergreen areas exceeding 70%. There is minimal suitability for agricultural purposes in this area.
