The site is a small promontory which shows an alternation of marly limestones, claystones, and marls. The easy erodibility of the lithotypes and the presence of faults have caused frequent slope failures and landslides, increasing the geomorphological interest of the site. Overall, it is in a good state of conservation, if it were not for the presence of a heavily trafficked road that compresses it into a narrow strip of land. There are habitats and species of priority interest, endemics, and species protected under international directives and conventions.
