This area is located along the eastern coast of the municipality of Estepona and belongs to the Baetic structural unit, in the province of Málaga. The”Placer de las Bóveda”s, a natural enclave, is situated on the edge of a sandy basin and is 35-40 metres deep but only 15-25 metres deep. The natural anchorage is composed of large, scattered boulders that create significant slopes, as well as numerous small and medium-sized caves and hollows that offer shelter to various species.
